To learn about local wildlife and outdoor recreation look to the JB and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center. This is one of the latest additions to NWA and allows children and adults to learn about the natural wonder where they live. Check out the downtown area for block parties and local festivals year round.

Runway Bike Park is a state-of-the-art outdoor bike skills training course at the Jones Center for every skill level. If you are downtown, look at Walter Turnbow Park. This newly renovated park is dedicated to Walter Turnbow, a local resident who served his community for over 70 years, is the perfect place to hang out with your friends and family. Fitzgerald Mountain Bike Trail is a network of dirt trails that is punctuated by boulders, rocky descents, ammd climbs perfect for all skill levels. Every year you can attend Rodeo of the Ozarks, a venue and event by the same name. This event is kicking off about the time that this is being written, June 23-26. Don’t let the name fool you though, this venue holds much more than just the rodeo. There are many exciting events at the stadium such as a demolition derby in August, a carnival in October, and a Christmas parade right after Thanksgiving.
